WE ARE RURAL! Message from the Director: 

"As the Regional District Director for Area B, I represent an electoral area that is unique from the standpoint that it is huge roughly 1,230 square kilometres. It contains the airport, landfill, golf course and Lower Kootenay Band, so the diversification requires a lot of different approaches to a lot of specific needs" We are located on Highway #3 and to the east #95 and west by Highway #21, to the US border with Idaho to the south. We are agricutural in nature with the benefits of the mountain ranges including the Skimmerhorn in the Purcell Mountains.

 RDCK Area B is a population of close to 5000 people and is on the boundary of the Town of Creston . We have Agricuture, Vineyards, Golfing, Purcell & Skimmerhorn mountains & forests with beautiful rivers and lakes, Restaurants, camping, horse areana facilities, back country activities such as snow mobiling, hiking, and Festivals and Events, from Pow Wow's by the Lower Kootenay Band to Winterfestivals, attractions like goats on a roof! Dozens of community groups, two border crossings to the USA, a super side trip of the International Selkirk Loop, the Dewdney Trail and Trans Canada Trail. Other business's from Artisans & Art Galleries to Lumber mills and wine & agricultural tours. Accommodations from Motels to bed & breakfasts. We support the Creston Valley Library and Creston & District Community Complex Notable visit close to our area is the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area. 

We want to tell our stories through this Community Portal. We will be connecting to people. We will share our landscape - Identify clearly who we are and increase our potential! Working together for Community Identity, Tourism & Economic Development & Communication for participating area's in the Regional District of Central Kootenay in Beautiful British Columbia.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay's Area B has a diverse economy of Agriculture, Agritourism, Arts & Culture, Small Business ventures. We even have "Table Tree Juice" - the Worlds Best Juice in 2012!
