We are a Not-for-Profit Society. We are working in conjunction with the communities in the Central Kootenay Area B region. We have been expanding to include other communities with similar Rural lifestyle challenges. We have found individuals with the drive and determination to make a difference within their communities. We will be assessing our needs and planning for our future at the same time realizing we have a diverse group of communities involved in the process. It will be communities helping communities! That is how we will be able to accomplish our collective goal and be able to sustain our rural way of life in the process.

Projects:

Newsletter & Website
In a collaborative effort we will share our collective Vision. I will be laid out on our physical pages and e-pages. Created by the people in the area. These are information tools to assist us in sharing information on:
community initiatives, businesses, calendars & links;
news and information;
Updates from elected officials;
social services and health care information;
health providers & wellness information, links to what our citizens consider important to help sustain our area’s.

Each community has their own pages on the website. We would like the communities input on their web pages and in the Newsletter.

Highway Signs:
Signs were designed by artist in the Valley. Each community will have the same design with variation in the logo and pictures to represent their unique community.

Winter fest
Watch for the first Winter Festival! We are going to be coordinating with the Halls to have rotating winter festival. There will be family fun events, food & entertainment.

Grant opportunities
We are forming a funding think tank to help your community help itself. A goal is keeping sustainable and communities helping communities.

Broadband
Leveling the playing field! Equity for rural citizens in education, health and economic development. Information and Communication Technology is a goal for our communications committee. Helping the communities attain sustainability and vibrancy through gaining access to new markets, develop local business, skills and expertise.

We need each community’s involvement to make this work. Keep that communication, community spirit and enthusiasm happening!
